Safenet Certification Services is a Republic of Ireland Notified Body for the Machinery Directive and the EMC Directive and we operate in Ireland, UK, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, USA, Canada, India and Iran.

We offer risk assessment, project management, time-critical analysis and specialist engineering advice.

We are active participants in numerous national, European and international committees for the drafting of Standards that support the Machinery Directive and the EMC Directive.

Safenet Certification Services is headed up by Peter McNicol. Peter has over 30 years of experience in the industry having trained as a mathematician and a software engineer. Peter is a member of the Institute of Engineering Technology, the British Computer Society and is a Chartered IT practitioner.

Peter is the recipient of the IEC 1906 Award 2023 for his on-going work with international standards, and in particular, as the convenor of MT 62046 / TC 44 and his work on the standard IEC 62046. This award is an important acknowledgement of the 24 years of international experience he brings to his work and his ongoing commitment to improving standards across our sector.
